Exciting New Retail Growth in Barrhaven

There is a lot happening in Barrhaven, and we are excited to see new businesses getting ready to open their doors!

Two new retail developments, Nukk Borrisokane and Cambrian, are bringing more places to shop, eat and access everyday services close to home. For Half Moon Bay, it is an exciting milestone and an important investment in the community.

Even better, the two developments are bringing a diverse mix of businesses to the Half Moon Bay area. Nukk Borrisokane features a strong collection of independently owned small businesses, while Cambrian will welcome sought-after national brands. Both are important to a vibrant business area, giving residents more choice and creating new opportunities for businesses to grow in Barrhaven.

The Barrhaven BIA has had the opportunity to tour both sites and connect with some of the businesses preparing to open. There is plenty to look forward to, so here is what we know so far.

Nukk Borrisokane Is Opening!

The Nukk Borrisokane development has started welcoming customers, and several businesses are already open.

Now open:

  • Uptown Barbershop
  • Sahtein Bakery
  • Pharmasave

Confirmed and coming soon:

  • Haru Sushi
  • Indian Spice Haven
  • Thai Haven
  • Namie’s Beauty Box
  • Kumon
  • Pizza Depot
  • Borrisokane Dental
  • Peloraa
  • Malden African Store

The remaining businesses are expected to begin opening throughout fall 2026.

We are especially excited to see so many independently owned businesses choosing to invest in Barrhaven. From restaurants and retail to personal services, education and health care, these businesses will bring new choices to residents while adding to the character of Barrhaven’s local business community.

Cambrian Is Coming This Fall

Just down the road, another major development is getting closer to opening.

Cambrian by Choice Properties will bring another important mix of retail and services to Half Moon Bay, this time with a strong national presence.

The full tenant list has not yet been announced, but BMO signage is now visible at the site. Plans also include a national pharmacy, a national bakery and other major tenants.

Businesses at Cambrian are expected to begin opening in fall 2026, and we know many residents will be eager to learn which brands are coming next. We will share more names as they become available.

A Great Mix for a Growing Community

What makes these two developments particularly exciting is how well they complement each other.

Independent businesses bring entrepreneurship, local character and personal connections to a community. National brands bring familiar services, additional choice and significant commercial investment. A healthy business community has room for both.

For Half Moon Bay, that mix is especially welcome. Tens of thousands of residents call this growing part of Barrhaven home, but nearby retail amenities have not grown at the same pace as the surrounding residential community.

That is changing.

Nukk Borrisokane and Cambrian will make it easier for residents to shop, dine and access services closer to home. They will also create new opportunities for business owners and contribute to an increasingly vibrant commercial area in this part of Barrhaven.

The Barrhaven BIA is proud to support this growth and to welcome the businesses choosing to invest in our community.

There is a lot more to come. Stay tuned as we share new tenant announcements and celebrate more openings in Barrhaven over the coming months!
