The Barrhaven BIA hosts a variety of networking events throughout the year to engage with our membership. These events include both large gatherings and small meet-ups. In 2026, we look forward to connecting with you at the following events:

Barrhaven BIA Annual General Meeting 2026

Festive Reception & Awards Presentation

Join us for our biggest event of the year as we take a moment to reflect and celebrate all the work that was done in the previous year and share our plans for the 2027.

  • DATE: Thursday, November 26th, 2026
  • TIME: 5:00pm to 8:00pm
  • LOCATION: Stonebridge Golf Club (68 Hawktree Ridge)
  • COST: FREE (Registration required)

Guests will enjoy a networking reception immediately following a brief meeting in a festive setting. Mix and mingle with fellow Barrhaven businesses.

Call for Nominations Notice: Help Shape the Future of Barrhaven Business

Applications are now open for the Barrhaven BIA Board of Management (2027–2030)

As the Barrhaven BIA enters its next four-year term, we are looking for passionate business and commercial property leaders who want to help shape the future of one of Canada’s fastest-growing communities.

We are seeking individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives who are committed to supporting local businesses and strengthening Barrhaven’s economic future.

We’re looking for leaders who bring experience in areas such as:

  • Retail 
  • Restaurants & Hospitality 
  • Commercial Property Ownership 
  • Professional Services 
  • Business Parks & Industrial 
  • Finance or Accounting 
  • Legal or Governance 
  • Marketing & Communications 
  • Human Resources 
  • Economic Development 
  • Community Leadership 

No previous board experience is required. What matters most is a willingness to collaborate, think strategically, and contribute your time and expertise to the community.

Annual BBIA Awards

In 2026, the Barrhaven BIA is proud to launch a new annual awards program to celebrate the achievements of our member businesses. There will be two award categories as part of the launch:

  • Marketing Award of Excellence: This award recognizes a business that has demonstrated outstanding achievement in marketing at a local level through creativity, strategic thinking, and measurable results. The recipient has successfully built brand awareness, engaged customers, and driven business growth using innovative campaigns across digital, print, social media, events, or other marketing channels.
  • Community Leadership Award: This award recognizes an individual from a Barrhaven BIA Member business who has made an exceptional contribution to strengthening our community through charitable giving, volunteerism, advocacy, and/or community engagement. This award celebrates an individual who goes beyond their day-to-day operations to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of others.

Nominations Open: September 9th, 2026

Nominations Close: October 16th, 2026

Judging: October 17th to October 31st

Notification: Winners will be notified the week of November 2nd, 2026

Awards Presentation: Awards will be presented at the 2026 AGM on November 26th, 2026.

All details will be shared on September 9th, 2026 once the nomination period begins. This includes the nomination form, judging rubric, and guide/rules.

Barrhaven BizConnect – Networking Series

Our BizConnect Networking Events are back for the fall of 2026 and we have made some exciting changes! 

Thanks to member feedback, we are focusing on the things that matter most to you. Over the next year, we will be hosting monthly events focused on learning, hot topics, fun activities and networking. These events are FREE to attend and we look forward to seeing you there.

Our events for the fall are set but we are actively looking for venues for 2027. If you are interested, please reach email connect@barrhavenbia.ca with your venue information (location, capacity, parking, etc.) as well as any ideas you may have for the type of event you would like to host.

Barrhaven BizConnect – Crime Prevention with Ottawa Police

The BBIA is excited to be teaming up with Ottawa Police Service (OPS) for this informative morning event. Start your day by meeting members of the South Neighbourhood Resource Team and learn about some of the different theft prevention strategies and services available to local businesses, including Agent Status, CAM Safe, CPTED, Youth Policing, and more!

Here’s what to expect:

  • An opportunity to chat directly with Ottawa Police
  • Great resources to support safety & security in your business
  • An opportunity to learn about crime and garbage dumping deterrence & prevention
  • Amazing door prizes featuring I ❤️ BARRHAVEN swag
  • All attendees will walk away with a FREE personal security alarm

Barrhaven BizConnect – Battle of the Barrhaven Businesses: Trivia Challenge

This October, as part of Small Business Week, the Barrhaven BIA is thrilled to announce the first-ever Battle of Barrhaven Businesses: Trivia Challenge! Join us for a fun evening of networking and light-hearted competition. Get ready to battle it out for ultimate trivia glory, while raising money for Barrhaven Food Cupboard.
