What’s for Dinner? – Barley Mow Barrhaven

The Barley Mow has been a fixture in Barrhaven since it opened in 2002. Known for a great atmosphere, cold drinks, great service, and a delicious menu, you can always count on the Mow for a great meal (or evening) out! This meal was a casual date night without children – a later dinner with a few drinks! It was perfect!

The Barley Mow has great daily specials that are worth checking out! Great prices and items that aren’t always on the menu make for a great experience! We happened to stop in for a late dinner on a Saturday evening and took advantage of one of those specials, but more on that later!

Our first entrée was the Chicken Taco Salad with Blackened Chicken (Pro-tip: the Blackened Chicken is available as a substitute for almost all chicken on the menu – if you like spice, I highly recommend it!) This salad featured fresh greens, black bean salsa, shredded cheddar cheese, corn tortillas, and fresh cilantro tossed in their famous garlic ranch dressing, all layered inside a charred flour tortilla! This salad is a big meal that will fill you up and the flavours are incredible. The salsa and chicken provide a bit of kick but the dressing is so creamy to cool it all down. This salad was delicious from start to finish!

Our second entrée was the daily special for Saturday – The Prime Rib Dinner! Featured at an amazing price point, this generously cut steak was cooked to order perfectly! Served with Salad and potatoes, this may not be what you would expect from a pub but it is a must order every Saturday!

It was a great night and we had a wonderful server who went out of her way to make for a great experience! Stop by the Barley Mow at 1481 Greenbank Road to check it out for yourself! See you at the Mow!
