Khokha Eatery has been open since early 2021 and since then they have been wowing the Barrhaven community with Pakistani Cuisine! If you haven’t tried them yet, make plans and go! This is a family business that is built on a love of food and that shows in every dish. Every bite is fresh and tastes homemade. With a mixture of street foods and traditional main dishes, there is something on the menu for everyone and this restaurant is perfect for a family meal!
Tonight we were treated to a variety of menu items and each tasted as good as it looks. While each would be a meal on its own, we shared taking a bit of each and the combination of flavours was amazing. Each dish was so good that it would be impossible to pick a favourite!
The Chicken Biryani features spicy chicken cooked in yogurt with long grain basmati rice and topped with caramelized onions, mint, and fresh coriander. This dish is bright and the freshness of the ingredients can be tasted with each bite. While there is a bit of spice to this dish, the caramelized onions provide the perfect contrast of sweetness.
The Chapli Kabab is their signature dish and the flavours are out of this world. This “king of kababs” features two patties formed from ground beef, onions, tomatoes, sundried pomegranate seeds, carom and traditional Peshawari spices. Paired with two house-made Naan breads, these patties pack a serious punch with a subtle spice!
The Beef Bun Kabab is a new take on a burger! Grab and go food, layered with inventive ingredients! This sandwich features a kabab patty topped with coleslaw, onions, their green chutney (this is their secret sauce!), and an egg between two soft (and buttered) buns!
The Butter Chicken flatbread brings the flavours of butter chicken to a pizza style flatbread. This is an amazing twist that must be tried! The chicken was perfectly cooked and flavourful and the toppings were fresh and bright.
Finally, we had two Samosas! Khokha Eatery just started making these in house and they are large and flavourful! Buy extra as these won’t last long on the table!
