Summer Employment Opportunity: Student Marketing Assistant

The Barrhaven BIA is in search of a mature student to work with us full time (35 hours per week) this summer from May until August to assist with marketing and promotional activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the team on various projects to promote our local business community of over 550 businesses. This is a remote position but you will be required to work out in the community as well. 

Working closely with the Marketing and Social Media Assistant, the Student Marketing Assistant will provide support with the Barrhaven BIA’s marketing and promotional activities including:

  • Creation of social media content
  • Photo and video taking at events and businesses
  • Email marketing campaign management
  • Content creation
  • Promotional activities at local events

The ideal candidate is:

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program in marketing, communications, photography, or another related field.
  • A skilled photographer and videographer.
  • Strong with graphic and content creation.
  • A great independent worker able to work from home without direct supervision
  • Able to have access to a car to travel to events and local businesses within Barrhaven.
  • Available to work the occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for events.
  • Familiar with both WordPress and Mailchimp.
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment supporting the growth of our local business community.

Rate of Pay: $15/hour
