What’s for Dinner – “Dine-In Edition” starts off strong with a great meal from Kelseys Original Roadhouse at 75 Marketplace Avenue (in the Chapman Mills Marketplace). Kelseys has been a fixture in the Barrhaven community for many years and it’s a great place to go for a family meal, to watch the game, or for a casual date night! This meal was the latter and it was a great atmosphere for a fun little date so close to home.
Kelseys Original Roadhouse have a fun cocktail menu that we just couldn’t resist trying. The Route 78 Hard Soda and the Honey Peach Tea Lemonade were both delicious and a great way to start the date. The Route 78 Hard Soda is refreshing and citrusy while the Honey Peach Tea Lemonade made it feel like summer!
For our meals, we tried two very different options. One of the great things about this restaurant is the diversity of the menu. As you will see, we had a great meal but felt like eating very different things! This is great for both picky and adventurous eaters alike!
The Buffalo Chicken Potato Skins jumped out on the menu as a must try and they didn’t disappoint. Hand cut potato wedges topped with spiced chicken, tossed in creamy buffalo wing sauce, and topped with a 3 cheese blend – you really can’t go wrong!
The Shrimp Thai Curry Bowl with Shanghai Noodles was also delicious. The Thai green curry sauce was delicious over the vegtables, shrimp, and noodles. We will definitely be getting this one again!
And date night is never complete without sharing a dessert! The White Chocolate Cheesecake was so indulgent! It was the perfect end to a great meal!
