Today we are starting the week off right with a great dinner from Mad Radish right here in Barrhaven. Did you know that they feature 3 brands under one roof? Our dinner tonight features something from each of the brands! Like most families, we all have different tastes so this was the perfect combination! We also added a smoothie and some cookies for dessert! The food is beautiful and fresh and honestly tastes even better than it looks!
Up first, the Bibimbowl from Mad Radish! This bowl features lemon-herb chicken (they cook it fresh every day), kimchi, roasted sweet potato, pickled carrot & daikon, sweet soy marinated cucumbers, brown rice, mixed greens, sesame seeds, gochujang sauce drizzle, and carrot ginger dressing! This bowl has everything from spicy to sweet – it is the perfect combination! Every bite was a different burst of flavour!
From Luisa’s Burrito & Bowls, we received the El Dorado Burrito with a base of mixed greens and brown rice! This massive burrito features Beef barbacoa, housemade guacamole, cotija cheese, cilantro roasted corn, red onion, grape tomatoes, black beans, sour cream, and Mexican Caesar dressing. The beef was cooked perfectly and paired with the creamy guac and zesty cotija cheese, it really doesn’t get any better than that.
The Godfather from Revival Pizza lives up to its name, and then some! San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, artichokes, Tuscan prosciutto, Italian spices, fresh arugula and a sweet balsamic glaze make for a delicious pizza! The flavours are bright and fresh on the most perfect thin crust. PRO TIP: it is a thin crust pizza which means it may cool on the way home. Simply pop it in the over at 400 for 3-5 minutes to bring back the heat!
Mad Radish have a variety of smoothies on the menu and the Nutty by Nature is definitely a favourite! This vegan smoothie is so creamy and rich – it feels more like dessert than a smoothie! It features almond milk, banana, dates, peanut butter, and almond extract! Add one to any order – you won’t regret it!
Speaking of dessert, Mad Radish also feature Skuish cookies for the perfect finish to a great meal! We tried the Cinnamon Toast Churro (which is exactly as it sounds with a surprise of white chocolate chunks!), the Ginger Cookie (tastes like something out of grandma’s kitchen), and the Classic Chocolate Chunk (you can’t go wrong with this traditional cookie!) All 3 were so good and disappeared quickly. Heat them in the microwave for a few seconds to get that true “skuish” effect.
