Ready to build relationships, lead engaging events, and support local businesses? The Barrhaven Business Improvement Area (BBIA) is hiring a Membership & Events Coordinator to support our members and help make our events shine.

The Membership & Events Coordinator role is centred on building relationships with local businesses, understanding their needs, and delivering events that enhance community vibrancy and economic activity. The role represents the BIA in the community.
Primary Purpose
To strengthen member engagement and organize events that support business vitality.
What You will Do
- Be the first point of contact for BBIA members and assist with onboarding.
- Maintain membership records and support renewals.
- Assist with planning and running BBIA events and programs.
- Provide on-site support at events and community activities.
- Contribute to communications, reporting, and general admin.
What We are Looking For
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience in member services and event coordination.
- Effective communication and people skills with a member-first mindset.
- Comfortable using databases, CRM systems, and digital tools.
- Strong organizational skills and diligence.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interest in community building and supporting local businesses.
- Familiarity with the Barrhaven business community is a strong asset.
- Post-secondary education in business administration, event management, or a related field is preferred.

- While most work happens during regular business hours, you will also be part of the action at occasional evening and weekend events that highlight and celebrate our members and the greater community.
