Yogatown

Barrhaven’s newest yoga studio opened earlier this year and they promise to do things a little differently. With two other studios in Ottawa, Barrhaven seemed like the perfect fit for a third. Yogatown is a business built on community and they strive to create a welcoming and un-intimidating atmosphere with a community of friendly yogis that challenge and support each other. Whatever your goals with yoga, the Yogatown family are there to support you in achieving them. Yoga is not just about being bendy. At Yogatown, you get to decide what yoga means to you. All you need to fit in at Yogatown is you to be Real. They want you to be You.

Yogatown, previously Moksha Yoga, began almost 11 years ago with their first location on Preston Street. After a struggle with mental illness, yoga had changed founder Tracy Billows life and she knew that she could help others do the same. Tracy’s story is one of courage and is as inspiring as the business itself. As the business grew, Yogatown was expanded into Stittsville and now Barrhaven, giving these communities the opportunity to improve their health – to grow, and heal both mentally and physically.

Members at Yogatown are “Townies”. The term townie is often used to refer to someone who has lived in a small town their entire life. It implies a sense of belonging and a positive connection with the community. At Yogatown, every member, whether brand new or long time, is embraced into the community. This is not just a branding gimmick either. As soon as you walk in the door, you get a sense of something bigger; it’s a place where people of all walks of life can come together with one thing in common – yoga!

Yogatown offer a variety of classes for all skill levels, 7 days a week. Whether you’re looking for an early morning class, a refresher during lunch, or evening sessions, there is something to fit everyone’s schedule. Check them out today!
