Meet Kate Morency

Meet Kate Morency. At just 17 years old, this Barrhaven teen is doing some amazing things in business on the world stage. Take a moment to check this out, and if you’re able, consider making a donation. Kate is a future leader in our community and we look forward to sharing her journey with you in the coming months!

Hi! I am Kate Morency. I am 17 years old and have lived in Barrhaven my entire life. I graduated from St. Mother Theresa High School and am now studying international management at the University of Ottawa. I began my business journey in 2017 when I participated in the Ontario Summer Company Program where I successfully ran my own bath bomb business. This piqued my interest in the world of business and made me eager to continue to grow through hands-on learning.

With the inspiration and programs offered through Global Vision, I have had the opportunity to continue to further explore leadership, international trade, and entrepreneurship as a participant and team leader in the Regional Roundtable, National Youth Ambassador Caucus, Digital Citizenship Conference, and trade mission to Peru and Southeast Asia.

Most  recently, I received the honour of being selected as one of 6 Canadian youths to attend the APEC summit in Santiago, Chile this coming November where will meet with youth from 21 countries in the Voices of the Future Program, create and present a Youth declaration to world leaders, network with CEOs of world-leading companies, and meet the Prime Minister of Canada.

Global Vision is a registered charity in Canada and relies on the generous support of companies and individuals to offer this and many other extraordinary opportunities for Canadian youth to develop as leaders, have a voice on the world stage, and contribute to their communities in Canada. Our team would greatly appreciate your support in bringing Canadian youth voices to APEC Chile 2019!
