Meet Leanne Duval

Leanne Duval will be celebrating 20 years working in banking at BMO this April and many will recognize her as the Branch Manager of the BMO Barrhaven West location. She has also served on our Barrhaven BIA board for the last few years and is the current Chair of our Marketing Committee. Leanne believes in giving back and she and her and her team are often out and about, lending a hand, and supporting amazing causes right here in Barrhaven. Banking wasn’t always the plan for Leanne, but it where she ultimately found her passion.

Finding her path

Leanne grew up not far from Ottawa in Alexandria. Her initial plan was to go to law school but as many students do, she took a job to cover expenses – she started working as a teller at BMO. She kept that job as she attended the University of Ottawa, working at a variety of branches throughout the city. As time passed, she realized that she had found her passion in banking and this was where she was meant to be.

A career in banking

Moving up within the company, Leanne has channeled her love of helping customers along with her passion for mentoring employees into the leadership role she holds today. She has worked throughout both Ottawa and Toronto moving into management roles in 2014. Banking is a great industry full of opportunity – what she started as a job to help pay the bills has since grown into a fulfilling career. She highly recommends this industry for this very reason.
